In the opening rounds, the Irishman stunned a lot of people by landing punches and displaying unexpected resiliency. But Mayweather didn’t give up and unleashed his signature defensive strategy to wear down his opponent.

McGregor’s fast-paced style started to wear thin as the bout went on. Mayweather made the most of his opportunity, dissecting his opponent with quick jabs and counterpunches. McGregor was clearly worn out by the 10th round, and his blows had lost their bite. Feeling the end was in sight, Mayweather launched an unrelenting assault that compelled the referee to intervene and end the fight.

With this victory, Mayweather surpassed the great Rocky Marciano and increased his flawless 50-0 record. Even though McGregor lost, he fought well.  The fight according to TalkSport earned at least $600 million. The majority of The Money Fight’s earnings were, naturally, derived from US pay-per-view sales.

Buys for Mayweather vs. McGregor totaled 4.3 million for the big fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Gate income from ticket sales brought in $55 million. According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Mayweather had a $100 million guaranteed purse, while McGregor had a $30 million guarantee. In a twist of luck, pay-per-view earnings raked in more money.

Floyds biggest purse came at $300 million from the bout, while McGregor took home about $100 million. Additionally, the WBC gave the American boxer the most precious boxing belt ever produced as a pleasant bonus.
