Los Angeles point guard LeBron James was a special guest at the Boston Celtics vs Cavaliers playoffs in Game 4.

Held on Monday night, James stunned the audience as he closely followed a fiery match with his former team, the Cavaliers. The Celtics won 109 – 102 against the Cavaliers in a closely contested match.

He sat amongst fans on the courtside where his NBA fame grew and cheered on the Cavaliers who were against the formidable Celtics.

James, now done with the postseason for weeks, excitedly watched Monday night’s playoff game between the Cavaliers and Celtics from his Ohio hometown. It was an appearance that sparked talk about his future in the NBA.

Alongside his wife Savannah, and his agent Rich Paul, James took a seat on the courtside of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse across Boston Celtics’ bench just before Celtics vs Cavaliers Game 4 kicked off,

The NBA All-time scorer was featured on the enormous scoreboard during a break in the first quarter and he earned a standing ovation. He nodded to the boisterous crowd, and illustratively put a crown on his head to affirm he is ‘King James.’

How Did the Celtics Vs Cavaliers Playoffs Go?

In a fiercely contested Celtics vs Cavaliers Game 4 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-102 to strengthen their hold on the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The victory puts the Celtics ahead 3-1 in the series and puts them one victory away from a trip to the Conference Finals.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from the Celtics once again led the way for the team. Brown scored 24 points on well-made shots, while Tatum burst into a game-high 31 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Even better is that the supporting cast of the Celtics also contributed, with 11 points from Payton Pritchard serving as a spark off the bench.

Celtics coach Ime Udoka said that his team was ready to secure another round of victory. He was aware that it wouldn’t be easy for Cavaliers to put them down.

He attributed their victory to the composure and focus of players during a tight match in Game 4.

Did Cleveland Cavaliers Play Well?

The young Cavaliers team played with great effort despite the absence of important players Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen.

With eight assists, Darius Garland created opportunities for teammates as he led the Cavaliers in scoring with 25 points.

With 22 points, Caris LeVert delivered a potent offensive punch that kept the Cavaliers in the game until the very last second.

There was back-and-forth action in the first half as both sides traded baskets. Early in the third quarter, the Celtics led by 10 points, but Garland’s aggressive drives and Isaac Okoro’s grit helped the Cavaliers mount a comeback.

Neither team gave up an inch as the fourth quarter saw an increase in intensity. But in the end, the Celtics’ background proved impenetrable. While Brown and Tatum made clutch shots, the Cavaliers failed to take advantage of crucial opportunities.

Subsequently, the Cavaliers had a hard time against the Boston Celtics without Donovan Mitchell on the floor. Mitchell has been the Cavaliers’ main offensive weapon since the playoffs started.

He averaged more than 15 points each game, and prior to Game 4, earning over 30% Cavaliers’ total points in the run-up to Game 4.

However, he suffered a calf injury and it was bad news for the Cavaliers who largely depended on him.

Will LeBron James Return to Lakers?

After gracing Celtics vs Cavaliers Game 4 in his Ohio backyard, there are questions surrounding his future with the Lakers. It was the first time in six years that he attended a Cavaliers game where he once played.

Ideally, James is free to sign with another team or opt out of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.

The 2024 NBA postseason was for 39-year-old James since the Lakers were eliminated in the opening round by the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.

He made it apparent that he is keeping his options open and all eyes are now on him.
