He has one more year left on his current deal and Arsenal is willing to negotiate on its extension
Arsenal is willing to pay him close to Pep Guardiola’s $20 million annual salary
Arsenal is willing to increase manager Mike Arteta’s pay, close to that of Pep Guardiola, by $20 annually in a bid to sign a new contract because he has only one year left before his current deal expires.
This has not yet been implemented since it will only be active upon signing the new contract. If it goes through, he will be among the highest-paid managers in the world, the likes of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
In his tenure, Arsenal is yet to secure a major trophy but the progress of the team is better compared to the previous seasons and this reason could have prompted the club to sign him on a new contract despite his one year to the end of the current deal.
A pay rise is a means of appreciation and motivation for his continued effort. This could ideally be because Arsenal wants him long-term and they are willing to give him the support he needs for better results.
Having worked under Pep Guardiola who is known for his philosophy, it was a period of learning from the best and most successful coach in the world. With this vast experience, we are certain that during his tenure Arsenal will be in a position to acquire more trophies and titles.

Playing career
He started his youth training at Barcelona’s youth academy where he played for Spain during his youth levels and he had brief stints with Paris Saint-Germain and Rangers before moving to England.
On moving to England, he had a loan spell with Everton before being signed permanently for six seasons, then signed with Arsenal in 2011. His tenure with Arsenal was successful and he was the captain that led the team to winning two FA Cups before hanging his boots in 2016.
Coaching career
During his playing career, he struggled with injuries that interfered with his playing time and this could be one of the reasons that led to his retirement. For the love of sport, he decided to transition to a coach.
The manager joined the Manchester City coaching staff under coach Pep Guardiola and it was a pleasure learning from the best and most successful manager known for his philosophy here he saw the team win the 2018 Premier League.
In the following year, he was appointed as Arsenal’s manager and in his first season, he led them to winning the FA Cup. This title was the first in the club’s history to be won by Arsenal’s coach.

In the following year, Arsenal won the community shield. When he was appointed the manager in 2019, Arsenal was in poor form and they sat eight place in the Premier League. His impact was immediate because in his first season, they won an FA Cup.
Reason for Arsenal’s offer on Arteta pay rise
There are several reasons as to why Arsenal is looking forward to increasing his pay. When he first joined the club in 2019, it was in bad shape and in his first season, he led them to winning an FA Cup while in the next season, they won the community shield.
This act of raising his pay could be a reward of success in his leadership. His contract will be expiring in the next one year and a pay rise is one way of discouraging him to take offers from other clubs.
Having worked under Pep Guardiola, he used the philosophy in leading his players and also has a skill set for the young talents which Arsenal is looking forward to after their graduation from the youth level.
So by offering better terms, he will definitely pay it back with titles and more trophies. Arsenal wants to regain its form of being a force in English football.
