The Dutch manager will look to build his preferred team this summer with several exits already rumored.

When Jurgen Klopp took over as manager of Liverpool in October 2015, nobody could have foreseen the kind of effect he would have had.

The whole football team saw a change in mindset after the German’s arrival, with players impressed by his tactical approach and spectators enthralled by his charisma.

He took over Liverpool from the departing Brendan Rodgers, but one thing is certain—despite the team putting up an implausible the title challenge—they are in a far stronger position now. And former Feyenoord manager Slot has been selected to succeed Klopp in his role.

Furthermore, there are intriguing similarities between the 45-year-old Slot and the renowned German manager. Both had enjoyable playing experiences in lower leagues in Germany and Holland, respectively, and had to learn their managing chops in challenging positions.

Both made a big difference in the lives of people in Rotterdam, Dortmund, and Liverpool. While there is no denying Klopp’s accomplishments on Merseyside, his replacement has performed just as admirably in the southern part of the Netherlands.

Cody Gakpo, Gravenberch, and Virgil van Dijk have a Dutch link with the new manager. The defensive line has been widely predicted to be the next area to receive reinforcements, with Joel Matip’s contract expiring at the end of the season and the Liverpool captain entering the final 12 months of his deal at Anfield.

Will Arne Slot give Kelleher more minutes?

Caoimhin Kelleher has made hints that he could want to leave Liverpool during the summer in an attempt to become the team’s best goalkeeper.

During the 2023–24 season, the Republic of Ireland international earned 26 appearances across all competitions. It was a career-best season for the goalkeeper, who flourished without the injured Alisson.

Including a dismal 2022–23 season in which Liverpool exited both cup competitions early and Kelleher was given minimal playing time, Kelleher made more appearances in the previous season than he had in the previous four combined.

In Liverpool’s 1-0 victory against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final in February, Kelleher was excellent, save Cole Palmer at point blank range as the Reds prevailed at Wembley through extra time.

The Irishman, who has participated in two League Cup final victories, stated that his objective is to advance and become the best goalkeeper in the world.

Virgil van Dijk: “I have full trust in the club

The first season under Arne Slot at Anfield will see Virgil van Dijk lead the team.

Slot signed a three-year contract to take over as Liverpool’s head coach before to Klopp’s appointment earlier this month.

Concerns have been raised regarding how smooth the transition under a new manager will be following Klopp’s exit after nine years in charge.

The contracts of important players like Van Dijk, whose deal expires at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season, are also up in the air.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future contract, Van Dijk has stated that he would lead the team next season following his productive discussions with Slot.

At the opening of the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 training camp, Van Dijk informed Sky Sports, “I have full trust in the club and their decisions going forward.

Alexander-Arnold maintained that he believes the club made the right choice in selecting Slot to succeed Klopp.

The summer of 2025 will mark the end of the vice captain of Liverpool’s contract, and another deal has not yet been reached.

Alexander-Arnold was named in Gareth Southgate’s preliminary Euro 2024 roster, and he is expected to join the England team.
