Hamilton has become a fashion hero thanks to his unique sense of style, frequently pushing the envelope with his outfit selections. His fashion exploits go beyond the racetrack, as his excellent sense of style often graces red carpets and fashion events. Hamilton’s prominence in the fashion business has been further cemented by his collaborations with prestigious designers and brands.

A documentary-style film about Formula One is among Dawn Apollo Films’ debut productions. In an interview from 2023, Hamilton disclosed that his first film project will star Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.

How Did Lewis Hamilton Decide What to Do After Retiring?

Hamilton says that after talking to other famous sportsmen, he has had his moments to decide what he wants. He has listened to the likes of Boris Becker, Michael Jordan, and Serena Williams on how they determined when to retire.

One thing he has learnt from each of them is how to make decisions in phases after thorough scrutiny. A recurring subject from those he has spoken to is the fear of not knowing the right time to retire. Some do it too late while others do it too early.

“Talking to greats that I’ve met along the way, who are retired – or some that are still in competition – and the fear of what’s next, the lack of preparation for what’s next. A lot of them said: ‘I stopped too early.’ Or: ‘Stayed too long.’ ‘When it ended, I didn’t have anything planned,” he told GQ Magazine.

And in such cases, the regret is too deep because very few of them move past their daily sporting life.  Thus, as Hamilton prepares to leave Mercedes, he will embark on a completely new challenge in 2025 when he joins Ferrari. But his biggest lesson yet is heeding the advice given by his predecessors on how to get a life outside F1.

For him though, he is a good student learning from great men and women now leading a different life from their sporting time. Although he is not sure when he will hang his helmet and call it a day in F1, he has fleshed out his next chapter in life.

Besides film and fashion, Hamilton has a sizeable stake in vegan burger chain Neat Burger and agave spirit Almave. These, together with his media exploits will keep him busy when he leaves the circuit for a quieter life.
