Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

Bukayo Saka is undoubtedly on the fringes of the debate if he isn’t world-class. The 22-year-old Arsenal winger has now played in 33 goals across all competitions, making him one of the most influential players in Europe.

Saka is a match-winner for Mikel Arteta and his side in terms of pace, goal, and final product. He may be in the running for the senior award if Arsenal advances over the halfway point in the championship fight, having won the PFA Young Player of the Year award the previous year.

Cole Palmer – Chelsea

Cole Palmer made a risky decision to join Chelsea over Manchester City in the summer of last year. He was upset at not being given more chances, but he has unquestionably shown that he was prepared for Premier League play.

In the Premier League this season, Palmer has amassed 20 goals and nine assists. He is the bright spot on a Chelsea squad that has struggled without him. Palmer has been an absolute joy to watch this season with his great technique and natural self-confidence. He showed this against Manchester United with a hat-trick and against Everton with four goals.

Erling Haaland – Manchester City

Even though Erling Haaland hasn’t quite reached his peak as he did in the previous season, the Norwegian is still rather frightening. With 21 goals in the Premier League, the 23-year-old leads all scorers as he attempts to win back-to-back Golden Boots. He has 32 goals in all competitions.

To put things in perspective, Sergio Aguero only exceeded that figure once in his English football career, and Thierry Henry only twice. It is even more remarkable considering that he has missed 12 games due to injuries.

It is a case of pure “Big Six” prejudice that Ollie Watkins is only seen as a nominee for the Player of the Season accolades. There is a claim that nobody in the division has contributed as much to their team’s results as Watkins has this season, as he continues to develop under Unai Emery into a complete center-forward.

Along with leading the league in assists (12), he has the most non-penalty goals (19) and unnerves opposing defenses with his boundless energy and presence. With his help, Aston Villa might have its best season since the early 1980s as Emery’s team approaches a top-four finish and Europa Conference League triumph.

Declan Rice – Arsenal

Declan Rice had the option to join Manchester City’s treble-winning squad last summer, but an aspirational Arsenal team prevailed in the competition to recruit the West Ham captain. Given Rice’s performances since leaving the capital, the £105 million sum has seldom been brought up.

The 25-year-old dominates midfield, leaps into tackles, and carries the ball past lines with assurance. This season, he has added a new string to his bow: his set-pieces have helped him record career-highs in goals (6) and assists (7). This season, he has been Arsenal’s mainstay, and come summer, he may play for England.

Do you recall a time when defensive midfielders were seldom ever given respects? Rodri is making a significant effort to alter that. Given that Rodri has been a member of the Manchester City club since February 2023, the Citizens have gone 90 minutes without losing, demonstrating the player’s undeniable value.

An essential component of Pep Guardiola’s strategy, Rodri drives the finest club team in the league. He is unmatched in Europe among midfield anchors.

Phil Foden – Manchester City

Although Phil Foden has always had a lot of promise, this season has seen the Manchester City midfielder blossom into a truly exceptional player.

In Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne’s absence, the 23-year-old has lifted the Citizens on several occasions, stepping up in crucial situations and tallying a career-high 24 goals in all competitions.

His two Premier League hat-tricks and derby day brace against Manchester United are among his many highlights as he has picked up the mantle as Pep Guardiola’s game-changer and run with it. It’s simple to forget that Foden didn’t play the whole Champions League final season. He may be the first name on the team sheet now.
