Following an altercation with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline following Liverpool‘s 2-2 draw with West Ham, Mohammed Salah remarked, “If I speak today there will be fire.”
Salah, who was left off the starting lineup for Wednesday’s Merseyside derby due to criticism for his performance, was waiting to enter the game with 11 minutes left at The London Stadium when the incident happened.
Following a wasted West Ham opportunity, Klopp turned to Salah on the touchline. The two verbally exchanged before Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez shoved Salah away.
Salah, who had rushed down the tunnel after full time, made headlines with a single word remark while walking past the mixed zone at the end of the game instead of stopping to speak with reporters.
The Liverpool player stated, “There’s going to be a fire today if I speak,” smiling, and then said, “of course,” when a reporter asked, “A fire?”
With four Premier League games remaining in which Salah has failed to score or provide an assist, the Liverpool forward has recently been lacking in production. However, Klopp has backed Salah following a bad error against Atalanta BC in the Europa League.

During his post-match news conference, the outgoing German was questioned about his altercation with Salah on the touchline. However, he refused to discuss the issue and said that it was now resolved.
“That was my impression,” Klopp said to reporters after answering the question of whether Salah had also moved on from the exchange. “We spoke about it in the dressing room and that is done for me,” Klopp later told reporters.
The day before Liverpool’s depressing draw against West Ham, reports suggested that the Reds and Feyenoord had reached a settlement on the compensation package for head coach Arne Slot, who will succeed Klopp this summer.
Salah’s future is also highly contested because his contract expires in the course of the summer of 2025, and Saudi Pro League teams are anticipated to make high-ball proposals for the winger during the next transfer window.
Liverpool’s aspirations of glory might be formally destroyed with a loss to Tottenham Hotspur on May 5. The team is now third in the league, but should its championship rivals win their remaining games, they run the risk of dropping seven points behind Manchester City and five below Arsenal.

In 48 games this season, Diaz has tallied 13 goals and five assists. Despite the Reds’ midweek 2-0 loss to Merseyside rivals Everton, he was commended for his energetic play.
In Saturday’s 2-2 tie with West Ham United, the 27-year-old was the only forward to keep his spot after Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were benched. He also set up Andrew Robertson’s goal.
Diaz has started in the starting lineup for 29 of Liverpool’s 35 matches in the Premier League this season, however even though he is a regular in the starting lineup, his future is unclear.
The attacker’s deal at Anfield is set to expire after three more seasons, but no negotiations are reportedly in progress, so a summer transfer might theoretically be taken into consideration.
Liverpool is reportedly “losing patience” with the Colombian international, and both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly expressed interest in Diaz.
Three names are said to be on Barcelona’s short list this summer for a new winger, including Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal.
Although a move for Martinelli is seen as impractical, Liverpool is reportedly still going to want at least £100 million in order to allow Diaz to leave the team after 2.5 years.
