The most well known families in sports have produced some of the most memorable athletes who have stunned the world with their performance. Becoming a professional athletes is one of the biggest feats in human history, but having multiple family members make it in the pros has to be one of the most fascinating things you can ever see.
Luckily, we’ve been able to see family members show us their prowess in a particular sport. Whether it’s tennis, football, boxing, racing or even wrestling, these families have left an indelible mark. With that said, here are four iconic families in sports that we are jealous of.
1. The Williams Sisters

We’ve never seen any family achieve success in tennis like the William Sisters. Venus Williams and her younger sister Serena Williams are widely considered the greatest female tennis players of all time.
Venus has won 7 singles Grand Slams as of 2024 and is still out there looking to add more to her amazing collection. Meanwhile, her younger sister Serena won 23 major (Grand Slam) women’s singles titles, which is the most in the Open Era.
The two were introduced to tennis by their parents Oracene Price and Richard Williams, who are coaches. They have been ranked by the Women’s Tennis Association at the world No. 1 position in both singles and doubles. Serena Williams retired in September 2022.
2. The Curry Family
Next on our list of the most iconic families in sports is The Curry family. The most famous member of the family is Steph Curry who is undoubtedly one of the best NBA players right now. Steph, who is credited for revolutionizing basketball, is a four-time NBA champion, a two-time MVP, an NBA Finals MVP and NBA All-Star. He has been playing for the Golden State Warriors since 2009.

Steph’s younger brother, Seth, has played for several NBA clubs over the years, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, among others. Since February he has been playing for the Charlotte Hornets.
Dell Curry, the father of Steph and Seth, played in the NBA from 1986 until his retirement in 2002. Over the course of his career he played for Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
3. Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko
Vitali Klitschko and his brother Wladimir are arguably the most successful siblings in boxing history. Vitali, now 52, competed professionally for several years before deciding to fully venture into politics. The Ukrainian held multiple world heavyweight championships, including the WBO title from 1999 to 2000.

Wladimir was also successful on his own and held the world heavyweight championship twice, including the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO titles.
Still on boxing, it is worth recognizing Muhammad Ali and his daughter Laila Amaria Ali. The two dominated the boxing world in different eras. Ali is widely considered one of the greatest pro boxers of all time and won numerous titles. Her daughter Laila also became a legend on her own before retiring in 2007.
4. The Anoa’i Family
Well, we can’t talk about iconic families in sports without mentioning The Anoa’i family. For starters, The Anoa’i family is a family of professional wrestlers that originates from the Samoan Islands. This family has been present in the wrestling world for so many years and includes some of the top stars from past and present.

Famous members of this Samoan family include WWE Hall of Famers Rikishi, Yokozuna, the Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika), Roman Reigns, the Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso), Umaga and Solo Sikoa. American actor and businessman Dwayne Johnson, who is known to wrestling fans as The Rock, is also a member of the Anoa’i family.
Roman Reigns is arguably the best wrestler from The Anoa’i family making waves in the wrestling world now. The Tribal Chief has been signed to WWE since 2010 and has held various titles over the years, including the WWE Championship, WWE United States Championship and WWE Intercontinental Champion.
