The win saw Inter Milan become just the second team in Italy to win 20 Serie A titles. In this article, we are going to take a look at the clubs with most Serie A titles.
7. Bologna – 7
Bologna Football Club 1909 have been in red-hot form this season. With five games left to play before the end of the season, Bologna are currently fourth on the Serie A standings and closing in on a return to the UEFA Champions League.
While many know Bologna as a team mostly fighting to survive in Italy’s top football league, they are actually one of the most successful clubs in the division. The i Rossoblu have won a total of seven Serie A titles, including two consecutive times during the 1935–36 and 1936–37 seasons.
6. Vercelli – 7

Tied with Bologna on the list of clubs with most Serie A titles is Football Club Pro Vercelli 1892. Vercelli currently play in the Serie C, which is the third tier of Italian football, after enjoying success in the early football era of Italy. Five of the league titles they won were consecutive.
5. Torino – 7
Torino was founded as Foot-Ball Club Torino in 1906. They won the first Serie A title in 1928 and then went on to be crowned Italy’s champion four consecutive times from 1945 to 1949. The last time they won the Serie A was in 1976 and have been runners-up at the end of the season seven times.
4. Genoa – 9
Next on clubs with most Serie A titles is Genoa. With nine titles won, they are the last club with less than ten Italian leagues. According to Sportsadda, Genoa won the inaugural edition of Serie A in 1898 after beating Inter Milan 3-1 in extra time. The first edition of Serie A was a knock-out tournament featuring just three clubs from Turin, the others being Foot-Ball Club Torinese and Reale Società Ginnastica di Torino.
If Genoa had won the 1901 Serie A title, which was snatched away from them by AC Milan, they would have added a record of seven consecutive league title wins to their collection. The only clubs with more league titles than Genoa in Italy are AC Milan, current champions Inter Milan and Juventus.
3. AC Milan – 19

AC Milan had won the same number of Serie A titles with Inter Milan until Monday night when they allowed their neighbours to clinch this season’s title with five games left to play. Milan’s last Scudetto triumph came in 2022 when they won their 19th league title.
The Rossoneri have also won five Italian Cups, seven Italian Super Cups, and five UEFA Super Cup titles over the years. They hold the record for the most UEFA Super Cups won alongside Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
2. Inter Milan – 20
Inter Milan leapfrogged AC Milan on the list of clubs with most Serie A titles to take second place following their win on Monday evening. The Nerazzurri have now won 20 domestic leagues, adding to their trophy cabinet which also includes three UEFA Champions League and three UEFA Europa League titles, among other trophies.
1. Juventus – 36 Titles
Having won 36 Serie A titles, there is no doubting the fact that Juventus are the powerhouses of Italian football. They won their first Scudetto in 1905 and have since been among the top teams in Europe. They won their last Serie A title during the 2019-20 season with the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo still at the club.
