Chelsea has moved up to 10th position in the Premier League standings and is now only five points behind Man United with a game remaining. The Red Devils are now in sixth place, nine points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth.

Seeing the most disastrous performance of the 20-time English champions on Thursday night, Man United’s minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe was in attendance at Stamford Bridge.

In the fourth minute of play, Chelsea took the lead thanks to a goal from Gallagher inside the box after Gusto’s cross deflected into his path. Andre Onana could have done better in the Man United sticks, as the ball went underneath the keeper.

In the fifteenth minute, Marc Cucurella swatted one over the Man United crossbar. Garnacho then attempted a fantastic volley at the other end from a cross by Kobbie Mainoo, but his effort went well wide of the mark.

After Antony knocked Cucurella down inside the area in the eighteenth minute, Chelsea was awarded a penalty. Palmer converted it to give the Blues a two-goal lead at Stamford Bridge.

However, Man United were back in the game in the 34th minute after Moises Caicedo’s misjudged ball released Garnacho into the Chelsea goal. The Argentine scored with skill while under pressure from Benoit Badiashile, a defender for the Blues.

After five extra minutes at the conclusion of the first half, the half-time whistle was blown at 2-2. Gallagher had already missed one shot at the Man United goal in the 43rd minute and had struck the post immediately after.

In the 53rd minute, Onana was forced to make a save against Nicolas Jackson. During a thrilling stretch of play, Fernandes then sent a shot over the crossbar at the opposite end.

Palmer was subsequently denied by Onana in the 59th minute, and in the 66th, Rashford and Willy Kambwala joined the Red Devils on the field. Evans, having sustained yet another injury, left the game along with Hojlund.

Antony ‘s first assist of the season came in the 67th minute as Man United seized the lead thanks to Garnacho’s excellent header into the goal from after the Brazilian was allowed space down the right.
