An icon of the game, he was dubbed The God of Cricket simply because of his exceptional cricketing skills, numerous records, and a career spanning decades. To some, there will never be a player like Sachin again.

2. Sachin Is A Fan Of Music

Just like most people all over the world, Sachin also loves music. In fact, he is an accomplished tabla musician, an ancient percussion instrument from India. There are several instances where the cricket legend has been seen singing and playing a guitar. The fact that he is too much into music could only mean one thing, he would have been an artist if cricket didn’t happen.

3. Sachin Tendulkar Is A Formula One Fan

He was barely 14 when on the sidelines during the semi-final clash between India and England. Years later, he got the golden opportunity to play at such a big stage and won the World Cup for his country in 2011.

5. Sachin Is Ambidextrous 

Well, every fan knows Sachin bats and bowls using his right hand. However, the hand that he uses to write is his left. He revealed in a video on Instagram that he can use either hand to ear. Another popular cricketer who is ambidextrous is Kane Williamson.

6. He Has Won Many Awards

Due to his contribution in cricket and philanthropic works, Sachin has won numerous awards over the years. In 2014, he became the first athlete to get the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian accolade, in 2014. He remains to be the youngest person to ever receive the award up to date.

Other awards he has received from the government of India include the Arjuna Award, the Khel Ratna Award, the Padma Shri and the Padma Vibhushan (2008).

7. A Philanthropist 

Sachin Tendulkar, just like many other established athletes all over the world, is a philanthropist. He established the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation in 2002, which has focused on supporting the less privileged children in the society in obtaining quality education. The foundation also works with institutions and municipal hospitals that provide quality healthcare at affordable costs to ensure the underprivileged children don’t lack medical care.

Since being named the UNICEF goodwill ambassador for South Asia in 2007, Sachin has participated in various charity endeavours.
