1. Longest Unbeaten Home Streak

Staring our list of impressive records by Jose Mourinho is longest unbeaten run at home in football history. This amazing run began on 22 February 2002 when Mourinho was the manager of Portuguese side FC Porto and went on until 19 February 2011 during his time at Real Madrid. In between, the 61-year-old managed Premier League club Chelsea and Serie A giants Inter Milan, which means he never lost a home match with those two clubs.

2. Most Home Games Unbeaten In Premier League

The English Premier League is often considered the best football league in the world. Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have been the most successful managers in the league in recent years, but none has managed to break Jose Mourinho’s record of going 77 games unbeaten at home. The run lasted from March 2004 to October 2008, during which the Portuguese manager led Chelsea to two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two Carabao Cups.

Chelsea might have fallen in recent years but that Jose Mourinho era makes the club still rank among the greatest in English football history.

3. Youngest Manager To Reach 100 UEFA Champions League Matches

On 21 November 2012, Jose Mourinho made history when he became the youngest manager to manage 100 UEFA Champions League games. He set the record on 21 November 2012 aged 49 years and 132 days as his Real Madrid side faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. In that match, the Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw by the Premier League side who were still establishing themselves as one of the best clubs in Europe.

4. The Only Manager To Reach All European Club Competition Finals

Well, you can’t talk about impressive records by Jose Mourinho and fail to mention the fact that he is the only manager who has reached all men’s European competition finals. From the prestigious UEFA Champions League to UEFA Europa League to UEFA Europa Conference League, the Special One has been to the finals of those competitions.

Mourinho reached the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 2003-04 managing Porto and went on to win the title. He again reached the final of Europe’s elite club competition in 2009-10 and won it while managing Italian giants Inter Milan.

During the 2016-17 season, Jose Mourinho reached his first ever UEFA Europa League final with Manchester United. He guided the Red Devils to triumph, thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan which sank Ajax.

On 25 May 2022, the Special One led AS Roma to triumph in the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League final. By winning the trophy, Roma became the first Italian club to win a European club competition since 2009-10 when Mourinho led Inter Milan to victory in Champions League final.

5. Fewest Goals Conceded In A Premier League Season

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side was one that many teams in the Premier League and Europe at large didn’t want to face. Their performance, particularly during the 2004-05 season, was so impressive as they did not only finish on top of the table but conceded just 15 goals the whole campaign. This record of fewest goals conceded in a single Premier League campaign by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side stands up to date.
