Kobbie Mainoo is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Manchester United and has been called up to the England men’s senior squad. Marino initially represented England at MU17 through to the MU19 level.

He has been part of the England U21 group but has been drafted into Gareth Southgate’s squad for games against Brazil and Belgium. His last addition follows an impressive performance in an epic FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool.

Kobbie Boateng Mainoo was born on April 19 2005 in Stockport, England to Felix Mainoo and Abena Herold. His father Felix has Ghanaian heritage and this gives the midfielder dual cultural influences.

He has an elder brother by the name Jordan Hames who is a reality TV personality who appeared on season five of Love Island UK. His childhood was filled with a passion for football and he started his football journey at Cheadle $ Gatley Junior Football Club where he spent a significant amount of time.

At the age of nine years, he joined Manchester United academy when his talent was recognized by professionals, which likely brought new challenges and opportunities for growth.  However, it was not an easy task for him to balance between his studies and football training as his football schedule was a bit demanding.

Though he is relatively young, his career journey is already impressive. He started playing football at Cheadle $ Gatley Junior Football Club where he got an opportunity to join the Manchester United academy when he was only nine years old.

The young midfielder progressed through the academy ranks, impressing coaches with his skills and work ethic and won accolades like the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award. Mainoo’s professional rise came when he signed his first professional contract with Manchester United. His performance against Carlisle United In the EFL Trophy, caught the attention of the senior team, a performance that made him receive a call-up to train with the senior squad later that year.

He made his senior debut in an EFL Cup and a debut in the Premier League as a substitute and his greatest moment was when he scored a dramatic last-minute goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which made him the youngest player to score for Manchester United in the Premier League for over a decade.
