Barcelona Starlet Pau Cubarci recieves his first call-up for Spain

Pau Cubarsi is the youngest-ever defender to appear for La Roja, breaking the record that was previously held by Sergi Ramos, and also the second youngest-ever player to debut for Barcelona’s senior team after Lamine Yamal.

He came in as a substitute in the 83rd minute in a match between Barcelona and Colombia in London. Though Barca lost, the night will always be memorable for the youngest ever who had a chance to make his senior international debut.

This was a dream come true for the youngster and he will have another chance to make his second appearance during next week’s friendly match with Brazil at the Santiago Bernabeu. If he continues impressing for the team, he could earn an opportunity for this summer’s European Championships.

The player rose through the ranks of the academy, where he showed his defensive prowess and became the third-youngest player ever to debut in the UEFA Youth League for Barcelona. Early 2023, he was called up to train with Barcelona’s fiat team under manager Xavi.

His impressive performance culminated in his first professional contract with the club three months later and the season saw him make his professional debut for the club at a tender age of 16 years.

The year 2023 marked a significant turning point for the player when he was called up to train with FC Barcelona’s first team under manager Xavi. Following his successful training, he was offered his first professional contract with the club, securing a place within their professional structure.

In that season, he made his professional debut for Barca at the age of 16 years, a testament to his exceptional talent and the trust placed in him by the coaching staff. He has represented Spain at various youth levels including the under-15, under-16 and under-17 teams.
