Rudiger and the German Football Association have taken legal action for being linked with a terrorism group
This happened after he posted a photo on social media in a white robe on a prayer mat with his index finger pointing towards the sky
Antonio Rudiger has sought a legal action together with the German Football Association after he was linked to a terrorism organization after he posted a photo on social media in a white robe on a prayer mat and his right hand index finger was pointing towards the sky.
A former editor criticized the finger pointing at the sky allegedly saying that it was a sign linked with terrorism. He has filed a criminal complaint with the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, and the DFB has also reported the case to the Central Office for Combating Internet Crime.
The right-hand Madrid player posted the photo at the start of Ramadan (the holy month ), one of the most important periods in the Islamic calendar. The player feels slandered.
In his post, the former journalist Julian Reichelt wrote that the gesture has been completely co-opted by terrorists and has become the greeting of ISIS and Islamist murderers all over the world.
He added that anyone who poses that way in public is consciously showing the greeting of fanatics and not an innocent, spiritual gesture. The player has not said anything about the matter probably because he wants the law to take its course.
