Trent Alexander-Arnold is a player who is on a closer look at Real Madrid, since his contract with Liverpool is almost on the verge of expiry in June 2025. Arnold plays as a right-back for Premier League club Liverpool and the England national team.
He has been sidelined due to a long-term injury which he sustained in February this year in a match against Burnley, an incident that has seen him miss the last nine games. His performance has attracted attention from several top clubs and Real Madrid is not an exception.
The player signed a four-year contract with Liverpool that will see him with the club till June 2025. However, this is the main driver as to why some other clubs are looking forward to signing him, putting Liverpool in a position where they need to extend his deal or risk losing him for free next year.
Real Madrid is reportedly taking a closer look at the situation, keeping a watchful eye on contract negotiations between the player and Arnold. If he expresses some interest in joining Real Madrid, the club might make a move to acquire him this summer or next when his contract weakens Liverpool’s bargaining power.
The main reason why Real Madrid is eyeing him is that their current right-back is nearing his prime and having Arnold is their advantage, seen as a long-term successor with his attacking prowess complementing their style of play.
