- Los Angeles are almost done with his transfer
French professional footballer Olivier Giroud is almost leaving AC Milan as Los Angeles FC finalize on sealing a deal with the striker. The striker is known to be an all-time leading goal scorer for France and he would join the team after this summer’s Euros on a deal that is guaranteed to run through the 2025 season.
He initially played handball before switching to football in his late teens and began his professional career at his hometown with club Grenoble in Ligue 2, in the French second division.
He had a loan spell at Istres and then a move to Tours FC, which marked his turning point. He blossomed and became a top scorer for the league, earning the Ligue 2 Player of the Year award in 2010.
The striker continued to impress and earned a place in Ligue 1 club Montpellier where he played a role in their historic Ligue 1 title, an achievement that propelled him to the forefront of French football and onto the radar of bigger clubs.
In 2012, he made a move to English Premier League club Arsenal and contributed to FA Cup victories for two consecutive years. Six seasons with Arsenal were full of achievements and he decided to embark on a new challenge with Chelsea, another Premier league giant.
With Chelsea, he added another FA Cup win and played a role in their Champions League triumph that year.
In 2022, he secured a move to Italian giants AC Milan where he helped them win the Serie A title that year and currently plays with the team. He is about to make another big move to Los Angeles FC once they conclude the deal with AC Milan.
Internationally, he has represented France and played a role in the team that reached the Euro 2016 final and was joint-second top scorer of the tournament. He is so far the all-time leading scorer for the France national team.

Giroud’s move to Los Angeles FC
Though his move to Los Angeles FC is not entirely finalized but it is in the process as he had an agreement with the club to join them after this Summer’s European Championship. The contract is expected to last until December 2025.
This move would mark the end of his illustrious European career and potentially offer a new challenge in a growing league like MSL. This would also be an opportunity to reunite with his French national teammate Hugo Lloris who already plays for LAFC.
