His best-selling card traces back to 2003 as a rookie
LeBron James Fanatics trading card is bigger and better this year as it will feature his son Bronny James.
This will be one of the most coveted trading cards on the season upon release next week on Wednesday.
James joined Fanatics’ trading card section recently in a surprise move and will now feature Bronny of USC. A trading card is a collectable card featuring a basketball player, team, or related content.
Different companies such as Topps and Panini America produce these cards. They showcase a player’s images, statistics, autographs, memorabilia pieces (such as a piece of a player’s jersey or a basketball), and sometimes limited edition or rare inserts.
Trading cards are historically popular and they serve as a way for fans and collectors to celebrate their favorite players and teams.
Their value depends on factors such as the rarity of the card, the player featured, and whether the card contains special features like autographs or unique memorabilia. Card value ideally depends on condition, grading, and market fluctuations.

The Los Angeles Lakers forward signed with Fanatics from Upper Deck who he had signed with a while ago until his deal expired.
In the upcoming release of the card series, the unique one-of-one card featuring both James and Bronny will hit the market on January 19th.
On one side, the card will showcase LeBron James in his St. Vincent-St. Mary uniform, while Bronny will appear on the other side as a member of the USC Trojans.
The trading card industry has experienced a notable surge in recent years, and this anticipated card from Fanatics is expected to command an exceptionally high price.
This is a major milestone in his life as he dreams on about playing with Bronny professionally. Bronny is currently a freshman at USC and his father has hopes of playing with him before he retires.
Now in his remarkable 21st NBA season, James continues to deliver impressive performances. He maintains averages of 25.1 points, 7.5 assists, and 7.2 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, as a freshman with the Trojans, Bronny has participated in five games following a heart procedure, averaging 6.7 points per contest.
Which LeBron James Cards are Worth Money?
Among the most prized cards are LeBron’s rookie cards, especially those from the 2003-04 NBA season. They include his Topps Chrome and Upper Deck Exquisite Collection cards. These early cards, featuring the young phenom in his Cleveland Cavaliers uniform, hold historical significance and are considered iconic in the trading card market.
This “holy grail” card, limited to just 23 copies, features a patch of LeBron’s jersey and boasts a BGS 9 grade. One sold for a staggering $425,000 in 2023, making it the most valuable LeBron card.
Further, the 2003 Topps Chrome Refractors Black #111 also made huge sales. With its sleek black borders and limited run of 500, this card is a legend in its own right. A BGS 10 gem-mint copy fetched $100,000 in 2021, and its value keeps climbing.

Lastly, the 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Rookie Logoman Patch Auto #LJ-L did exceptionally well. This autograph-jersey patch combo, limited to 99, is another high-roller magnet. A BGS 8.5 copy recently sold for $130,000, proving its enduring appeal.
How Much Did LeBron James Rookie Card Cost?
James has multiple rookie cards, each coming at a different cost due to market dynamics such as fluctuation in demand conditions among others.
Still, the 2003-04 SP Authentic LeBron James Rookie Card (RC) continues to demonstrate its significant worth. Recent auction results highlight its impressive value.
A PSA 9 variant of this card fetched an astounding $40,000 on eBay on September 18, 2021, attesting to its desirability among collectors. Notably, in May 2021, a PSA 10 version of the same card garnered a staggering $106,780 in a successful auction held by Goldin Auctions.
These remarkable auction prices are the baseline of market dynamics for trading cards demand which bring about an elevated market value associated with the LeBron James Rookie Card.
