Career
Just like many other professional footballers, Takumi Minamino began playing football as a small boy. Growing up, he was inspired by Brazil’s renowned striker Ronaldo. Minamino used to watch videos of Ronaldo doing feints and then go outside to practice.

The forward scored his first senior goal on 15 December as Cerezo Osaka thrashed Shimizu S-Pulse 4-0.
Minamino soon became a key player for his boyhood club and due to his impressive performance, he got the attention of European clubs. On 7 January 2015, Red Bull Salzburg, who had been tracking him for a year and a half, signed him.

On 13 February, Minamino made his debut for Salzburg as a starter in a 2-0 victory over Wiener Neustadt. During his time with the club, he won the Australian Bundesliga six consecutive times.
The Japanese forward then continued his football journey at Liverpool where he won the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup. Minamino spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan at Southampton before returning to Liverpool. On 28 June 2022, he joined Monaco on a four-year deal.
