Liverpool beat Fulham 4-3 on Sunday evening at Anfield Stadium to keep up the pace with league leaders Arsenal at the top. The Reds were trailing 3-2 in the 87th minute but turned the match around in brilliant fashion, thanks to goals from Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold had helped Liverpool open the scoring in the 20th minute when his free-kick ricocheted off the crossbar and in off Bernd Leno. Fulham equalized four minutes later through former Liverpool player Harry Wilson. Alexis Mac Allister then restored Liverpool’s lead in the 38th minute with a thunderous strike.

Fulham found a second equalizer before the half time whistle and took the lead for the first time in the 80th minute through to Bobby De Cordova-Reid. It seemed the visitors were on their way to ending Liverpool’s 13-month unbeaten home record in the Premier League when Wataru Endo levelled the sores in the 87th minute. Alexander-Arnold then completed the comeback one minute later to keep up the Reds’ impressive run this season.
Not only did Liverpool pull off an incredible comeback, but they did so with four amazing strikers. Speaking after the match, Jurgen Klopp recognized the beautiful goals his side scored.
“I don’t think I ever saw a game with this amount of beautiful goals. But because we were a bit dumb we almost gave it away. In the first half when we gave the goals away the defending was awful. Football is decided in details. We were really good in the game and played a lot of good stuff but it was 2-2 at half time and deserved. They were there and scored a wonderful goal and it was 3-2 and everyone in a Fulham shirt thought that was it maybe and then we throw back with two worldies.” Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports after Liverpool beat Fulham.
Liverpool moved up to second place after Sunday’s victory at Anfield and are two points behind Arsenal on the standings. Meanwhile, a deflated Fulham side sit 14th and continue with their search for a first Premier League away win since beating Everton on the opening day of the season. This was their seventh defeat of the season.
How Liverpool Beat Fulham
There was action at Anfield from the very first whistle. The hosts thought they had taken the lead inside eight minutes through Mohamed Salah but the goal was ruled out for an offside in the build-up.
Nonetheless, they eventually opened the scoring in the 20th minute after Alexander-Arnold’s stunning free-kick went in off Bernd Leno. None of the last 11 fixtures between these two sides at Anfield had seen both teams to score but Fulham ended the bad record with their first shot on target four minutes after Liverpool’s opener..
It was former Reds Harry Wilson who tapped in Antonee Robinson’s cross to bring the scores level. World Cup winner Mac Allister then put Liverpool in front in the 38th minute with a stunning goal that he will remember for a very long time. It was an absolute screamer into the top corner of the net.

With so much time left before the break, Fulham found an equalizer Kenny Tete, who poked home Raul Jimenez’s flick-on from a corner kick. The visitors scored again from their next corner but it was ruled out for offside.
The hosts came determined after the break but it is them who conceded first in the 81st minute when substitutes Tom Cairney and Bobby De Cordova-Reid combined, with the latter netting to complete the comeback. However, that turned out not to be the winning goal in this chaotic match as Wataru Endo equalized for the Reds before Alexander-Arnold scored the winner.
