Career

An All-American wrestler in high school, Lio Rush began training to be a pro wrestler while still a teenager. Combining blistering speed and his impressive moves in the ring, he showed signs of becoming a big name in the wrestling world while still young.

Rush made his pro wrestling debut using the ring name “LI Green”, but would later change to “Lennon Duffy”. The American worked with various promotions on the independent circuit and won several titles, including the CZW World Heavyweight Championship.

Rush then worked with Ring of Honor before joining WWE at the age of 22 in July 2017. He was initially assigned to the NXT brand but was promoted to the main roster one year later. He formed an alliance with Bobby Lashley and helped him capture the Intercontinental Championship after defeating Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match.

After failing to defeat Finn Balor in a match for the Intercontinental Championship, Rush returned to NXT in September. He captured the Cruiserweight Championship the following month in an episode of NXT. Rush returned to the independent circuit in 2020 after being released by WWE and has since worked with numerous promotions.
