Jannik Sinner Australian Open 2024 dream is nothing less than winning
His Australian coach and Vagnozzi consider Sinner’s physique a priority
He is optimistic that Sinner will gradually gain more mass
Jannik Sinner Australian Open 2024 dream is nothing less than winning, his coach Darren Cahill says.
Cahill who was with Simone Vagnozzi told Corriere della Sera, an Italian newspaper that Sinner has all it takes to win the Melbourne event.
The Australian coach and Vagnozzi consider Sinner’s physique a priority, with the foundation already established through work with Piatti.
He is optimistic that Sinner will gradually gain more mass to protect ligaments, joints, and bones.
“Sinner can win a Major, already in Australia. Jannik’s physique is a priority for the team. The base was already there thanks to the work with Piatti, he will put on more mass by proceeding in small steps. Ligaments, joints and bones must be protected,” Cahill stated.
Jannik Sinner Australian Open 2024
Cahill exuded confidence in Sinner winning the first Grand Slam of the year by stating that the Italian tennis star is more confident.
He trusts his body and its capabilities more than before and he is currently nearly out of an injury zone.

“Now he trusts his body much more, he has less pain, he knows himself better. We’ve always had long-term goals, so nothing changes. We want to bring him to play the ATP Finals as a starter, as happened in 2023.
“Possibly improving him. The nice thing is that there is no need to motivate him: after a defeat, he is always the first to ask to go back on the court and work,” Cahill stated.
Sinner impressively won all three of his round-robin ATP Finals matches, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Holger Rune. He continued his strong showing by beating Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals.
Despite his impressive run, Sinner fell short in the final match against Djokovic, losing 6-3, 6-3.
Jannik Sinner 2024 Tennis Plans
Skipping a pre-Australian Open event and diving straight into the first Grand Slam of the year is also a big surprise for Sinner’s fans. He will not play in Auckland in what Cahill says is an intentional move.
They opted for this approach to prioritize Sinner’s mental and physical well-being, protecting him from pre-season fatigue after a packed Davis Cup schedule in Malaga.
Cahill compares it to his successful “stress-free” approach with Andre Agassi. However, 2024 has another highlight: the Paris Olympics.
Representing Italy under the five rings is a priority for Sinner, offering a unique experience and fostering personal growth, similar to his Davis Cup involvement.
While it means sacrificing another tournament slot, the human and competitive value of the Olympics outweighs its absence.
“Representing your country every four years, at the Olympics, as part of a national team is a special experience. It will take away an important human adventure, of great growth, as happened in the Davis Cup,” he said.

Jannik Sinner 2023 Tennis Season
Sinner’s 2023 season was a rollercoaster of triumphs and calculated gambles. His grass-court magic shone at the Queen’s Club Championships in June.
He toppled home favorites Cameron Norrie and Jack Draper before defeating defending champion Matteo Berrettini in a nail-biting final, claiming his first ATP 500 title.
Reaching the quarterfinals of the US Open in September was an indication of his resilience. He battled past Karen Khachanov and Brandon Nakashima in epic five-setters before succumbing to Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling four-set encounter.
Sinner capped off his season with a dominant display at the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan.
He won all his round-robin matches and defeated Brandon Nakashima in the final, solidifying his position as one of the brightest young stars in tennis.
