Chelsea lost their Premier League match against Newcastle United 4-1 on Saturday afternoon, with captain Reece James being sent off.
Isak, who has missed several matches in the last month owing to a groin injury, was set up by 17-year-old midfielder Lewis Miley’s fantastic short ball into the center of Chelsea’s defense. The striker took a touch before finishing in the 13th minute.

After the loss, Chelsea is now sitting in 10th place in the Premier League standings, having only picked up 16 points from their first 13 games. Eddie Howe’s team is now in sixth place, three points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place.
The game’s first effort came in the ninth minute, following a fast start. Conor Gallagher, under pressure from Kieran Trippier, hammered one wide of the post from a tightening angle.
However, Newcastle took the lead in the thirteenth minute of play when Isak, after a feed from Lewis Miley, fired the ball past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Isak confronted the other team’s goalie and used fantastic footwork to grab Miley’s deft pass. He also displayed excellent calm to pick out the far corner.
Though Sterling’s incredible free kick left Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope little opportunity to save it, Chelsea were only down for ten minutes.
In the 26th minute, Joelinton had a chance to give the home team the lead again, but he misdirected a close-range header from Trippier’s corner.
Gallagher missed the mark after squandering space in a hazardous position, but Pope then performed a masterful job of deflecting an Enzo Fernandez effort around the post in the 31st minute.
Later in the first half, Trippier’s excellent free-kick struck the crossbar as Sanchez was unable to get it over. This caused Newcastle to lose momentum.
On the hour, however, the Magpies were ahead once again when Jamaal Lascelles connected brilliantly with Anthony Gordon’s cross to give Howe’s team a 2-1 lead.

In less than a minute, Thiago Silva made a mistake by taking a heavy touch in a dangerous position, allowing Joelinton to race into the Chelsea box and finish past Sanchez. This allowed Newcastle to score again.
When Chelsea’s captain Recce James fouled Gordon in the 73rd minute while he was already on a yellow card, things became much worse for the team.
After some deft play by Fabian Schar, Newcastle had an opportunity to score a fourth in the 76th minute, but Sanchez made a great stop to deny the goal.
Howe sent several young players off the bench to push Gordon up front, and in the 83rd minute, he scored the game’s last goal with a superb solo effort.
The hosts did make it 4-1 in the 83rd minute when Gordon, who had trouble for Chelsea the whole game, raced onto a cross from Miguel Almiron, found space, and scored into the bottom corner to cap off a terrible afternoon for the visitors.
Nicolas Jackson was unable to register a shot as Chelsea ended the game with an expected goals total of just 0.58, far lower than Newcastle’s 2.28.
Newcastle’s focus will now shift to the Champions League, where they will play a crucial match away to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. They will then play their next league match at home against Manchester United on Saturday.
Next Sunday, Chelsea will play Brighton & Hove Albion in an attempt to recover from their most recent poor league performance.
