Bryson DeChambeau began playing golf while still young and won the California State Junior Championship at the age of 16. After graduating from high school in 2012, he joined Southern Methodist University and soon became the first SMU Mustang to win the NCAA individual championship.
In August 2015, DeChambeau won the US Amateur title and became the fifth player after Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ryan Moore to win both the NCAA and US Amateur the same year.
