Paris Saint-Germain defeated a lackluster AC Milan 3-0 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday to take the lead in their Champions League Group F thanks to another magical moment from Kylian Mbappe and a goal from Randal Kolo Muani.

Mbappe opened the scoring with a deft low shot just before halftime. Kolo Muani, a teammate of Ousmane Dembele’s from their national team, increased the lead early in the second half.

In the final minutes, Lee Kang-in scored a third to secure the win.

Despite a difficult first half, Luis Enrique’s team won and now have six points from three games, two more than Borussia Dortmund, who defeated Newcastle United 1-0.

AC Milan is bottom of the group with two points. They have now lost their previous four competitive games and have failed to score in five straight Champions League games.

Despite having a strong start, PSG found it difficult to break away from Milan’s pressing play since they were outnumbered in the middle.

On 32 minutes, though, they did manage to regain control of the midfield when Mbappe outpaced his defender and struck the back of the net with a low effort into the corner after Zaire-Emery broke through.

But Dembele didn’t give up, and five minutes later he set up Kolo Muani‘s goal when his effort was misdirected by Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan and trickled into the empty net.

At times, Milan posed a threat, most notably via Christian Pulisic, but Gianluigi Donnarumma was having a great game and also undid Rafael Leao’s attempt to maintain a clean sheet.

Mbappe was denied two more times by Maignan, who used his greatest attribute to produce two outstanding stops.

After finishing with a man-of-the-match performance, Lee scored his first goal for PSG in the last minute by connecting with a Zaire-Emery cutback. Lee is a French Under-21 midfielder.

“We enjoyed playing together, it’s teamwork,” midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, 17, said.

“We play as a team, we make the efforts for our teammates, that’s how we do it.”

PSG’s next match is against Milan on November 7. They will need to win to keep their hopes of making it to the knockout round alive. This would be their first group-stage victory.

In an attempt to close the gap on their rivals by three points in the standings, Borussia will welcome Newcastle.
