For seasoned gamers of the franchise, Career Mode is typically a popular game mode. This year is no exception, offering access to local leagues from 25 different countries as well as fully licensed UEFA competitions like the Champions League and Europa League.

Here are some of the best teams to try out on career mode in EA Sports FC 24.

Bayer Leverkusen

This season, Bayer Leverkusen has been one of the most intriguing teams in Europe’s top five leagues, with Xabi Alonso’s dynamic club battling Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich in the early going.

Last season, Alonso led Leverkusen from the Bundesliga’s relegation spots to Europa League qualifying, and the German team is again aiming for a championship shot.

Leverkusen, one of football’s greatest bridesmaids, has finished as the runner-up five times since 1997 despite never winning the Bundesliga. The club hasn’t won the DFB-Pokal in 30 years, but this team appears to be ready to contend both at home and in the Europa League.

After more than ten years in obscurity, the entrance of Hollywood A-Listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has thrust the club into the public eye. A smashing documentary chronicling their journey under new celebrity ownership has also helped to raise the club’s profile.

After winning the fifth-tier title the previous season, Wrexham’s lengthy exile from the English Football League came to an end, and this time around, they want to achieve back-to-back promotions. The summer arrivals of James McClean, a 102-cap Ireland international, former Scotland striker Steven Fletcher, and George Evans from lower division Millwall show the club’s appeal.

The Red Dragons have a long way to go before they reach the Premier League, but trying to get them there will be a task worth rising to.

After qualifying for the Europa League, Brighton has seen an astonishing ascent and this season is participating in European play for the first time.

Al-Ahli, who were reinstated into the Saudi Pro League last season after experiencing their first-ever relegation in 2021–2022, have a front three that is plenty of flare.

Lazio

With four different winners in the last four seasons, Serie A has perhaps been the most unpredictable of Europe’s top five leagues in recent years.

Since Juventus’ ninth consecutive championship in 2019–20, both Milan teams and Napoli have won the Scudetto.

Could Lazio be the next team to win the title? The capital club’s second-place performance in Serie A last year was their best since winning the championship in 1999/2000.

Although losing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to the Saudi Pro League last summer was disappointing, the team has gained promising new players in Daichi Kamada and Gustav Isaksen.
