  • Sofapaka are winless in four matches
  • They have only two points from two draws
  • Posta are also looking to keep at the top

New Sofapaka FC head coach Francis Harigingo has admitted that there is pressure building on his back, as his side is yet to pick a victory in the FKF Premier League. Batoto Bamungu have only two points from two draws, and the Burundian tactician says it is not looking good for his side.

“Yes, there is pressure, When the team does not win definitely there is some pressure on the coach. There are some things that we have not yet done right and I believe we have worked on them and will improve,” the tactician said.

He adds; “Also, we have a very new team and we are still trying to gel together and get everybody playing as a unit.”

Sofapaka lost their last match 1-0 to Ulinzi Stars, and the coach says they need to improve on their finishing, as they played well but could not score.

“We need to be sharper infront of goal because we create so many chances but fail to score. Most of the time we have up to four clear chances in a game but don’t hit the net,” noted the coach.

They will take on struggling Nairobi City Stars at the Kasarani Annex in their next match, and the coach is confident they will earn a win. City Stars have had a difficult start to the season, more so because of having a very youthful side with most of their players having left at the end of last season.

Sharks face high flying Posta

Meanwhile in other matches, Posta Rangers take on Kariobangi Sharks in the late kick off at the Kasarani Annex.

Posta has been a team on form this season, as they currently lead the FKF Premier League standings. The mailmen are unbeaten this season with three wins and a draw that puts them top of the league with 10 points after four matches.

John Kamau’s men are looking to continue with the same form when they take on another on form side, Kariobangi Sharks.

Posta have had convincing victories and have beaten Police FC and Sofapaka with three goal outputs, showing they are not pushovers.

“We have basically strengthened on the philosophy we worked on last season and it is working. The new players who came on board have also gelled in quick and that has helped us,” said Kamau.

Sharks been in good form

Sharks have also been in good form and are also unbeaten with two draws and two wins that takes them to eight points in the standings.

William Muluya’s young team has been punching above their weight and they will look to keep the momentum running at the Annex as well.

“We have made the players believe and they have taken up that very well. We hope they can continue that way till the end of the season,” Muluya said.

Sharks are third in the standings.
