Shikhar Dhawan began his cricket journey at Sonnet Club under the guidance of coach Tarak Sinha. Dhawan began his career as a wicket-keeper before shifting to a batsman. He started his professional career with Delhi Under-16 in the 1990/00 Vijay Merchant Trophy.
