Many Premier League newcomers have been forced to wait patiently for their first outings at new clubs due to the international break delaying their league debuts.

One of the most intriguing transfer deadline days in recent years saw numerous teams make significant transfers in the closing hours of the window.

We look at players set to make their debuts this weekend in the Premier League.

Ansu Fati

When Brighton signed Ansu Fati, one of Spanish football’s top prospects, it must have seemed like a pinch-me moment for the Seagulls’ supporters. Fati, 20, has joined Brighton on a temporary loan from Barcelona with no option to purchase as he attempts to restart a career that has sputtered just a little bit since his record-breaking debut at the Camp Nou.

Before the international break, Roberto De Zerbi’s team put on an amazing display as they defeated Newcastle 3-1. Roberto De Zerbi’s team has aspirations of once again storming the European spots, and Fati watched from the stands.

The winger, who was chosen to replace Lionel Messi and given the Barcelona legend’s number ten jersey at the Camp Nou in 2021, informed Brighton’s official media channel that De Zerbi’s faith in him was a major factor in his choice to transfer to the Amex.

Ryan Gravenberch

On the last day of the transfer window, Liverpool acquired Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich for £34 million, completing the midfield overhaul.

At Ajax, Gravenberch was regarded as one of Europe’s top young prospects, but his summer transfer to Bayern fell through because the Dutchman found it difficult to get consistent playing time there.

The 21-year-old, who is at ease in a variety of central positions and contributes to a youth engine room in Jurgen Klopp’s new-look side, has been given a chance by Liverpool. Gravenberch displeased the national team this week by declining to join the Netherlands U-21 team as he prepares to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

He may make his debut on Saturday at noon when Liverpool, who have won three straight, play Wolves at Molineux.

Sofyan Amrabat

Late in the transfer window, Erik ten Hag strengthened Manchester United’s midfield by signing Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina.

The Red Devils paid £8.5 million for the 27-year-old to join on a season-long loan, with a club option to make the transfer permanent for an extra £21.4 million.

Amrabat joins United following a shaky start to the season that saw summer acquisition Mason Mount develop a hamstring injury and Casemiro appear out of sorts in midfield.

If the Moroccan has recovered following an inexplicable absence from September’s international matches, he might make his debut against Brighton this weekend. The Moroccan sparkled when his country advanced to the World Cup semi-finals last year.

Matheus Nunes

Pep Guardiola once referred to Matheus Nunes, a midfielder with Sporting Lisbon at the time, as “one of the best players in the world.” After spending one season at Wolves and then signing for Manchester City in a £53 million move, Nunes now has the potential to make a lasting impression on Guardiola.

Last season, Nunes struggled to perform to his full potential for a pragmatic Wolves team, but the Brazil-born Portugal international had the talent to succeed at the Etihad. He joins a number of other innovative possibilities in the City squad as an excellent ball carrier as Guardiola seeks to enhance a team that has evolved into a Swiss Army Knife when it comes to dismantling rival defenses.

Prior to Saturday’s trip to West Ham, City remain the only club in the Premier League with a flawless record. Nunes is eager to see action for the first time while wearing a City jersey.
