Crystal Palace defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday at Old Trafford thanks to the game’s only goal from Joachim Andersen.
The dismal setback follows a prior home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The home team gave a lackluster effort, and in the 25th minute, Anderson’s strike into the top corner put them down. The Red Devils struggled to generate any significant scoring opportunities under a deluge in Manchester, despite playing on their home field and having time to equalize.

Mason Mount wasted United’s greatest opportunity of the day in the second half. The visitors were successful in maintaining their advantage, moving up to ninth place on the league standings, one spot ahead of the 20-time Premier League Champions.
United has played seven games and has a dismal nine points with a -4 goal difference. This is their poorest Premier League season-opening ever. The 1989–1990 season saw the previous worst start.
The result served as a painful reminder of the team’s previous home defeat to Brighton, which ended a 31-game winning streak at Old Trafford in all games. Rasmus Hojland, a high-profile seasonal addition, missed an early opportunity despite United’s strong intentions going into the game, but the team was unable to turn around the negative trend.
The home supporters were discouraged by Anderson‘s subsequent amazing free-kick goal. Even though United played with more vigor in the second half, Johnstone made some outstanding saves. Despite this, United lacked inventiveness. Despite resounding jeers from the Old Trafford supporters, Palace maintained control until the final whistle, except for the occasional scramble.
When the ball struck Joel Ward in the hand, Man United shouted for a penalty, but the official was uninterested and VAR agreed, keeping Palace ahead going into the final 30 minutes of play.

In the time that followed, the visitors continued to pose a danger despite having little access to the ball, and Red Devils goalkeeper Andre Onana produced a deft stop to block a shot from Will Hughes.
After Mitchell almost missed Palace’s goal in the 71st minute after Fernandes’ dangerous cross, Mason Mount headed a superb Dalot cross wide of the post in the 70th, and the visitors survived two tense situations that could have been fatal.

As Palace held on to win all three points at Old Trafford thanks to a late Andersen clearance, Man United is once again in a precarious situation before of Tuesday’s Champions League matchup with Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
