Joe Hart began his football journey at local club Shrewsbury Town. Following his impressive performance while playing for the academy, he travelled with the first-team squad of Shrewsbury Town for the first time as a 15-year-old in February 2003.
He remained an unused substitute as his side faced Exeter City. One month later, he travelled with the team again but was an unused substitute in the match against Rochdale.
