He began his combat journey as a wrestler after being inspired by his older brother, Angel Cejudo, who was an undefeated four-time AIA Wrestling state champion. Henry also became a four-time champion and continued to wrestle after college.

On 4 August 2018, Cejudo defeated Demetrious Johnson to become UFC’s second Flyweight Champion and first gold medalist to capture UFC gold.
