The Serbian is the last of the top 3 tennis players of the decade who are still active. He is currently commanding a huge fanbase at Flushing Meadows thus being his first US Open match since 2022. He continued his winning streak over Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals with a straight sets win 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

Djokovic, 36, broke his tie with his former nemesis Roger Federer by making it to a men’s record 47th Grand Slam semifinal. Despite the US Open being one of his least successful Grand Slam events, his 13 semi-final appearances here place him second all-time among men, only behind Jimmy Connors, who made it to 14.

His victory over Fritz books him a date with American tennis player Ben Shelton in the semis.

CARLOS ALCARAZ

You all want a repeat of Wimbledon Finals action at the US Open 2023 between Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and Djokovic. It could be a realistic dream after Alcaraz toppled Italian tennis star Matteo Arnaldi in the tournament’s Round of 16. The current world No.1 won 6-3 6-3 6-4 to book a place in the quarter-finals.

He faces off with celebrated tennis German tennis star Alexander Zverev and there are immense hopes that the Spaniard will make it to the semis and advance to the finals so as to square it out with Djokovic. Zverev lost to Alcaraz in 2022 at the US Open and they are meeting this time around in the last eight stage.

Following his qualification to the US Open quarterfinals warned his opponents they will suffer greatly before knocking him out of this tournament. Alcaraz is optimistic that he is in incredible physical shape and he has an aggressive game plan to unleash in his matches. He has no doubt at all.

Alcaraz, the defending champion, defeated Casper Ruud in the 2022 final and he is determined to get his first Grand Slam. Jannik Sinner was the sixth-seeded Italian that Zverev faced in the fourth round on Monday. Zverev outlasted Sinner in a gruelling five-set battle to go to the US Open quarterfinals for the third time.

After suffering an injury at the French Open in 2022 that kept him out for eight months, the 26-year-old German player battled exhaustion to finally secure 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 triumph.
