Let’s take a look at some of the biggest sports events to come in 2024, starting with the NFL’s biggest game.
Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is one of the early must-watch events in the annual sporting calendar. It seems the two top teams from each conference of the NFL facing off against each other to take the biggest prize in the sport – the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
2023’s event saw the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in what was an incredibly tight and exciting game. The Super Bowl always attracts a huge audience across the US and the rest of the world. This isn’t just for the incredible sporting prowess on display but also the spectacle and entertainment on offer, of which no small part is the halftime show. 2024’s event is sure to be one you don’t want to miss.
World Snooker Championship
Although the sport of snooker might seem a world away from the glitz and glamour of the Super Bowl, it provides plenty of excitement for those who love the sport.
2023’s World Snooker Championship was one of the most exciting in recent years, with many notable moments, including an incredible semi-final between Belgium’s Luca Brecel and China’s 20-year-old sensation – Si Jiahui. Ultimately Luca Brecel went on to win the 2023 title, beating four-time champion Mark Selby in a thrilling final that will be remembered by fans for years to come. 2024’s event will take place from mid-April to early May and will doubtless provide many more great moments.
Grand National
The Grand National is one of the world’s biggest horse racing events and draws a huge audience from all across the UK and the rest of the world. It’s been held each year in Aintree, Merseyside since 1839, making it an incredibly prestigious event with a rich history.
2023’s Grand National saw Corach Rambler win the event and provided plenty of entertainment for fans in attendance and watching on TV. The event was disrupted somewhat by protests beforehand but ultimately got underway and was a great success. UEFA Champions League
The UEFA Champions League is the biggest event in club football and always draws a huge global audience. 2023’s Champions League final saw double winners; Manchester City take on Inter Milan. Manchester City just had to win this game in order to complete a historic treble, equalling the achievements of their local rivals, Manchester United in 1999. City went on to win the game 1-0 in what was a close and tense affair where Inter almost scored in the dying seconds of the game.
2024’s Champions League final will take place at Wembley Stadium, which has hosted the final multiple times in recent years, including memorable matches between Manchester United and Barcelona, as well as 2013’s final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
NBA Finals
The NBA Finals is the biggest event in the NBA calendar and is a best-of-seven series that sees the winners of the conference finals taking each other on to determine who is the overall champion. 2023’s NBA Finals provided a thrilling spectacle with the Denver Nuggets taking on Miami Heat in a series that went five games, with the Nuggets eventually coming out victorious – clinching their first title in 47 years.

Wimbledon
