Career
Michael Clarke made his first-class debut for New South Wales as a seventeen-year-old. In 2002, he joined English club Ramsbottom Cricket Club where he became the first player to hit a double century in the history of the Lancashire League.
Following his impressive performance, Clark was selected to represent the Australia national team in 2003. He made his ODI debut in January against England at Adelaide Oval.
In October 2004, Clarke played in his first Test match during Australia’s tour of India. Even though he was not confident at first, he ended up showing scoring 151 runs. He was named player of the match as Australia secured victory and continued to play well for the rest of the tournament.
