Jude Bellingham scored his first goal for Real Madrid as the Spanish side beat Manchester United 2-0 at NRG Stadium.
The youngster, who was previously a target of Manchester United, played just 45 minutes and that’s all he needed to open his account for Real Madrid. The Los Blancos’ second goal was an acrobatic finish by Joselu who also arrived this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side had some decent chances throughout the match but none materialized. Well, this explains why the Dutch manager is desperate to sign a striker this summer.
“Absolutely. Two things: the pressing can be better from the start and scoring goals. And I think we need more players who are capable to be in the one-on-ones. We had the situations: it was (Marcus) Rashford, Scott McTominay, (Alejandro) Garnacho, you have to score. It’s always difficult to see… but we are working 24/7. We do a lot in the club, all the power to get this done.” Erik ten Hag said after the match when asked if the performance against Real Madrid meant United needs a new goalscorer.
Manchester United have only scored four goals in their four senior matches so far this pre-season. According to sources close to the club, they will sign a new striker before the transfer window is closed next month.
How Real Madrid Beat Manchester United
Real Madrid opened the scoring against Manchester United after just six minutes of play. Antonio Rudiger clipped a long ball over the top and Bellingham composed himself before chipping Andre Onana. There was little the goalkeeper could do to stop Bellingham from scoring his first goal for Real Madrid.
Erik ten Hag disputed the goal but it appeared Bellingham had been played onside by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United had ten men on the pitch at the time as Christian Eriksen prepared to replace Kobbie Mainoo. The youngster suffered an injury after just two minutes of play. This was after Casemiro tripped Rodrygo, who collided with Mainoo and left him on the ground.
Real Madrid continued to punch holes in United despite Eriksen filling the gap left by Mainoo. A break from Carlo Ancelotti’s men had Vinicius Junior skating along the left and sliding the ball to Bellingham, who didn’t convert.
Manchester United missed several opportunities to equalize. Mason Mount, who was anonymous in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal, was a disappointment again here. Youngster Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Casemiro all missed chances to level the scores at NRG Stadium.

Joselu, who previously played in England for Stoke City and Newcastle United, scored with an acrobatic overhead kick in the dying minutes of the game to make the result safe.
