Rich Paul, an agent for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James says the NBA all-time scorer will play until 2030.

This will make him the oldest NBA player in the league.  Rich says that although it looks bleak for James to play another seven years, it is possible for him.

He has played for 20 seasons already and it is a unique display because only a few players succeed in maintaining the same longevity in the NBA.

Following Lakers’ loss last season, many predict that James will retire soon, especially in light of how slow he was last season.

He played with a ruptured tendon in his right foot and his medical team were at crossroads on whether he should undergo surgery or not.

James first suffered a foot injury on February 26 while playing against the Dallas Mavericks in a regular-season game.

Still, James averages the same stats in his 20th NBA season just like he did in his golden years. Yet, he is displaying signs of ageing, but that doesn’t mean he can’t continue to perform well on the floor according to his agent.

Rich says that James should now change his playing style should he decide to play another seven seasons.

His agent spoke amid claims indications that he could call in time following the Lakers’ defeat last season.

James made a possible retirement suggestion in his postgame press conference after the defeat by Denver Nuggets.

He said that though it wasn’t easy getting to the finals, he isn’t sure he wants to continue and he has to think about it.

“It’s not fun to not be able to get to the finals. We’ll see what happens down the road. I don’t know. I got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just with me, personally moving forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about,” Marca reported.

While he thinks about it all, his fans are optimistic that he will play for a few more years to make his dream of playing with his eldest son Bronny James a reality.

Bronny has a few more years to the NBA draft and James is categorical that he is the reason he hasn’t retired yet. It’s also conceivable that he takes a break for a year before making a comeback to play for the squad that selects Bronny.

Evidently though is that James’ NBA era is nearly coming to an end and he could retire at 40. This means he has two more seasons to go with the Lakers.

LeBron James joined the NBA in 2003. The Cleveland Cavaliers which is his home team picked him with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. The all-time NBA scorer made history by setting a record for the most points scored by a prep-to-pro player in his first game.

It is at the Lakers that he surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and it is a huge feat for him.
