  • Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are interested in signing PSG forward Kylian Mbappe
  • Al Hilal have offered PSG a multi-million record-breaking deal which the Parisians have accepted
  • Mbappe and his representatives have however declined to meet the Saudi club

According to reports, Kylian Mbappe and his representatives declined a meeting with Al Hilal officials in Paris to discuss a potential transfer to the Saudi Pro League. Paris St Germain, Mbappe’s current club, allegedly allowed Al Hilal to negotiate personal terms with the French striker after receiving a written bid of £259 million for his services. The Saudi club delegation intended to present their project to Mbappe and finalize the signing of Brazil striker Malcom from Zenit St Petersburg during the meeting. However, French sports newspaper L’Equipe revealed that Mbappe and his team rejected any talks with Al Hilal and never considered the option.

Mbappe’s future at PSG has been uncertain since June, when it was revealed that he would not extend his contract beyond 2025, potentially making him a free agent next summer and allowing him to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with another club as early as January. While PSG has not officially confirmed the rejection of Al Hilal’s approach, they reportedly believe that Mbappe has already agreed to a free transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

Sources in Paris suggest that the 24-year-old could receive a hefty signing-on fee of 160 million euros (£138 million) if he chooses to run down his existing contract with PSG and move to the Spanish capital in 2024.

The refusal to engage in discussions with Al Hilal further fuels speculation about Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid. The French forward has long been linked with the Spanish giants, and rumours have intensified since he expressed his desire not to extend his contract with PSG. Real Madrid, known for their star-studded roster and historic success, could offer Mbappe a new challenge and an opportunity to play alongside some of the world’s best players.

While PSG fans will be disappointed to see their star player potentially leaving the club, they will undoubtedly hope that he can help deliver more trophies and success before his possible departure. Mbappe has been a key figure for PSG since his arrival in 2017, forming a formidable attacking trio with Neymar and Lionel Messi, which has struck fear into opposing defences.

As the transfer saga unfolds, football enthusiasts worldwide will be eagerly awaiting Mbappe’s decision on his future. The prospect of seeing him in the iconic white jersey of Real Madrid or witnessing him continue his exploits with PSG will undoubtedly be a topic of great interest and speculation in the coming months. Regardless of the outcome, Kylian Mbappe’s talent and potential will continue to captivate the football world, and his next move could shape the landscape of European football for years to come.
