Charles Abouo is an Ivorian professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard or a small forward and his estimated net worth in 2023 is about $1 million.

Education Background

Abouo attended Logan High School in Utah, where he played basketball becoming the school’s all-time scorer. He was a three-time all-state player and was named Utah Class 3A player of the year following his senior season.

After he graduated from high school, Abouo spent a year playing for Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire where he helped the team to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference Class A Championship.

Upon graduating from Brewster Academy, Abouo joined Brigham Young University [BYU] where he played basketball for four seasons and became a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection. 

He began his professional career in France and has since played in Israel, Turkey and China.

Personal Life

Charles Abouo was born in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on November 4 1989 to his father Christian, a businessman and Marie a homemaker. His brothers are also basketball players. 

His brother Serg played college basketball at the University of Utah and Jean-Marc played college basketball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas while his only sister Clarisse is a college student.

Abouo is passionate about giving back to the community and started a foundation that provides scholarships to young people in Cote d’Ivoire who want to play basketball. He also works with local schools to promote the sport.

His family relocated to the United States when he was only ten years. The guard is still single, still focusing on his career.

Career

Charles started his career playing in high school in Utah where he was a three-time all-state player being named Utah Class 3A Player of the Year following his senior season.

After high school, he joined Brigham Young University playing for four seasons and he became a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection.

After graduating from college, the player began his professional career in France and has since played in Israel, Turkey and China, currently playing for ESSM Le Portel in the French LNB Pro A.

Charles has been a member of the Cote d’Ivoire national team and has played in three FIBA AfroBasket tournaments helping the team win a silver medal.

The guard’s dream in his career is to help grow the sport in his country and see more young people playing basketball. He wants the Cote d’Ivoire national team to become a more competitive force on the international stage.

The player hopes that his effort and determination will see him drafted in the NBA and if the dream is realized, he will be the first Ivorian player to play in the League.
