Manchester United have reportedly turned down a bid of £20 million from West Ham for the transfer of Harry Maguire.
According to sources, West Ham boss David Moyes is keen on getting Harry Maguire this summer. The Hammers have money to spend following Declan Rice‘s £100 million move to Arsenal a few weeks ago.

Harry Maguire’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain, especially after he was stripped off the captaincy several days ago. Erik ten Hag, United’s coach, is willing to let Maguire go having said the move could help the England international regain his form.
Maguire is believed to be earning around £200,000 a week at Old Trafford, which is way more than any West Ham player at the moment. The England international has two more years left on his contract with the Red Devils and could leave as a free agent in 2025.
According to BBC Sports, Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for Harry Maguire. However, the offer should match the former skipper’s valuation. He should also show the desire to leave if the Red Devils are to sell him this summer.
Harry Maguire has fallen behind the pecking orders in the heart of Manchester United’s defence, with manager ten Hag preferring Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez over him.
Since Martinez arrived from Ajax last summer, the Argentine has been featuring in the starting eleven, not unless he is injured. Victor Lindelof, who has been with the Red Devils for some time now, is also favoured by ten Hag over Maguire. Luke Shaw, who is a left-back, has also been deployed at centre-back despite Maguire being fit to play.
Harry Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester City for £80 million in the summer of 2019. Former United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointed him captain of the club in January 2020. However, the England international has struggled to get the form he had while playing for Leicester at Manchester United.
During the 2022-23 campaign, Maguire played in 31 of United’s 62 matches. He made just eight starts in the Premier League, with Bruno Fernandes captaining the team in his absence. The Portuguese midfielder eventually became Manchester United’s captain this summer.

If Maguire leaves Manchester United this summer, he won’t be the only one as the club is planning to release several players before the window is closed. Anthony Elenga already joined Nottingham Forest in a deal believed to be worth around £20 million. Alex Telles also left the club several days ago, joining Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr. The Brazil international will be playing alongside his former teammate at Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo.
