Drew McIntyre began training as a wrestler at the age of 15. He made his wrestling debut in 2003 for the inaugural show of British Championship Wrestling.
Drew began wrestling on the independent circuit in 2006 and won the IWW International Heavyweight Championship that same year. He signed with WWE in late 2007 and made his official debut on 12 October on SmackDown.
After a shot stint on the main roster, Drew was moved to WWE’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. During his time there, he won the FCW Florida Championship Wrestling once and the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship twice.
