Sani is a 30 years old football player who was born in Edo, Nigeria to his parents who were of a low class.

His father Sani Unakhasor married his mother ad were blessed with four girls. As per his tradition, he deserved a male child and thus, went for an option of a second wife. In short, he was polygamous.

Just before his second wife sired children, Sani’s mother bore two male children and his stepmother bore three more. So, his family consists of nine children. It was so unfortunate that the two mothers were always in dispute and on a particular day, it went further board leading to death.

This happened when the two wives got into an argument and the second one broke a bottle and slit the other’s neck which led her to bleeding to death [Sani’s mother].

The father was left without a wife one dead and the other in prison with nine children to feed. Things were bad even opted to end his life but he struggled to survive. The fight did not end there because the children were now left pointing fingers on behalf of their mothers.

Sani was now growing big and with the problems in his family, he sought help in a synagogue with his friend Egonyi Onazi and little did they know that was their path to success. The priest held their hands and took them to Boden BK Football Club’s junior team in Sweden.

The two youngsters excelled and eventually earned another invitation to the Eaglet’s camp. They made the team that won silver in the U-17 championship.

Since then, the two have had a strong bond and are strict Christian believers who always come up with initiatives to help the less fortunate in the society and the bond is unbreakable.

Sani suffered an injury and his childhood friend was there not only physically but Onazi took care of all the hospital expenses till his friend got well. When I say the bond is unbreakable, trust me it is.

On the other hand, Sani’s father also turned up to the synagogue and the priest helped him restore his life. He is a happy man and his son introduced him to the synagogue which has given him hope to live once more.

Those were blessings in disguise.

Career

Born in Edo, Nigeria, Sani moved to Lagos where he joined a club known as My People FC, a football club that was run by the church which gave him refuge.

Later on, the priest from the church sought sponsorship and Sani alongside his friend Egonyi Onasi joined the Swedish club Bodens BK where he stayed for a few months before attaining the recommended age by FIFA.

After the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, he had trials at Chelsea and Tottenham. However, after the trial, he settled with S.S Lazio and was put into their primavera side. He then signed for U.S. Salernitana making his one appearance and came in as a substitute in the 58th minute though they were defeated.

Emmanuel signed a contract with a Swiss club FC Biel-Bienne on loan. He made his debut for the club against Wohlen when he came in as a substitute but his club lost the match.

On dismissal, he had a trial at the Bosnian side FK Sarajevo but failed at the attempt.

Emmanuel became prominent during the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted in Nigeria, finishing the tournament with five goals being the joint top-scorer and winning the Golden Ball helping Nigeria to a runner-up finish behind Switzerland.
