Promise showed interest in the sport while she was schooling at Apollo High School, in the hometown of Glendale, Ariz in a senior class. Her position was a guard.

While at Apollo High School, she was named to Parade Magazine’s 35th annual all-American High school Girl’s Basketball. She also helped lead Apollo to the 4A-I Arizona State Championship.

She is currently single and there are no details of her past relationship.

Career

Promise began playing basketball while in high school, joined the university and still kept her passion for the sport.

She began her professional career in Spain during the 2015-16 season averaging 7.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in nineteen minutes per game with CREF Hola, shinning against Mann Filter with 15 points and against Girona with 14 points.

The following season, she signed in Germany and averaged 14.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 28 minutes per game with Osnabruck.

In the next season, Promise signed in Romania with Alexandria averaging 20 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and +21.3 efficiency per game with 50% from the field and 41% from the 3-point line.

She continue with Romania the next season playing for Satu Mare where she averaged 13.4 points,3.5 rebounds,4.5 assists and +16.1 efficiency per game. She was able to reach the Romanian League and Cup finals.

In 2019, she represented Nigeria and won the Gold Medal at the African Championship where she averaged 8.4 points, 3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 22 minutes per game.

The following season, she signed with Charnay in the French top division where she averaged 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and +12.6 efficiency per game. Promise extended with Charnay the following season averaging 11.6 points, 4 rebounds,3.4 assists and +12.3 efficiency per game.

In the summer of 2021, she signed in France with Landerneau averaging 9.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

In the next season, she signed in Israel’s Herzliya averaging 17.6 points,4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

She was selected with the 36th pick in the Women’s National Basketball Association [WNBA] draft and has professional experience playing the game, touring several parts of the world like Spain, France, Israel, Germany and Romania.

Her parents are Nigerian citizens, she is eligible to play for the country’s national team. Hence, she is an important player for the Nigeria national team and she has competed in the Olympic Games and the World Championships.

Amukamara won the gold medal in the 2019 and 2021 Afro baskets when she represented the Nigeria national team.
