Novak Djokovic is undoubtedly a celebrated tennis player but it is never easy for his wife, Jelena Djokovic whenever he is playing a Grand Slam tournament.
He says the pressure of adding more slams into his basket always gets to Jelena, his team and his parents. These are the people he closely relates with.
The recent French Open tournament saw him win his 23rd Grand Slam and became the modern-day-era tennis player with the most grand slams.
It is this victory that he recently opened up about citing that it looks easy while it is not because there is much that happens away from the public eye.
His coach Goran Ivanisevic insists that Djokovic becomes a nightmare to deal with when things don’t work his way. The Serbian admits as much adding that it is always a torturous affair when playing any Grand Slam tournament.

He acknowledged that Grand Slams make him feel extremely tired and a “handful,” and that his wife Jelena, his parents, and his coaching staff are aware.
Djokovic promised to capture it all in a book that he is currently working on for people to understand the cost of his success.
“Maybe we will go into more detail in a book, mine or Goran’s. I am extremely tiring during Grand Slams, I can be a handful – my team knows it, my wife knows it, my parents know it. They all know that sometimes they need to get out of my way, I radiate this energy that says ‘I want to have time for myself’,” he said according to Sportskeeda.
Djokovic acknowledged his need for perfection and said he wanted the best from his family and team because the road to success is always challenging.
For him to get the needed support from his wife Jelena, coach and his parents, he reciprocates by being equally supportive at all times.

They then support him unconditionally and it is one of the least-known secrets to his superb performance on the ATP Tour.
Interestingly, he says that even with all this success, he has his nervous moments whenever he is on the court because the pressure is too much. Handling this pressure is also something he tries hard to cope with.
“I am nervous on the court, demanding off the court. I know myself well and I know what it takes to win one of these trophies, so I expect others to give the maximum of their abilities, for them to stay focused on this mission. That’s why it’s not easy. If it were easy, everybody would do it,” he remarked.
He beat Casper Ruud to win his second Grand Slam of the year after winning the Australian Open early in January.
Djokovic who prides in Jelena’s unwavering support stated that there is always a rush of pride, satisfaction and fulfillment whenever he wins a Grand Slam.
His wife has consistently been on his side and international media christened her ‘Djokovic’s fiercest defender’.
