Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has agreed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, Fabrizio Romano reports.

Fabrizio reports that it’s Al Nassr that accepted all conditions Brozovic gave to join them. The defensive midfielder will sign a three-year deal with the Saudi Arabian club. His stay at the club is expected to end in June 2026.

Inter Milan will receive 25 million euros from Al Nassr for the transfer of Marcelo Brozovic. The Serie A side hope to use the money to sign Sassuolo’s 23-year-old Davide Frattesi.

According to the Guardian, FC Barcelona were also interested in signing Marcelo Brozovic. However, the Catalans withdrew out of the race for not being able to compete financially with Al Nassr’s huge offer. The offer is worth more than 100 million euros, including salary and transfer fee.

Barca wanted Brozovic as a replacement for Sergio Busquets due to his experience and leadership abilities. Xavi Hernandez’s side were even open to a swap deal involving Franck Kessie in order to get the deal over the line. But as they struggled to reach an agreement with Inter Milan, Brozovic accepted Al Ahli’s offer.

Speaking about Brozovic’s move to Saudi Arabia, Barcelona president Juan Laporta said the deal won’t happen.

“Brozovic, [Martín] Zubimendi and [Joshua] Kimmich are too expensive – these deals are not happening due to the financial package required.” The Guardian quotes Juan Laporta.

Whereas Al Nassr are closing in on a deal to sign Marcelo Brozovic, fellow Saudi club Al Ittihad are also on the verge of signing Celtic’s Jota. Fabrizio reports that an agreement is being discussed between all parties involved in the transfer and it is now very close.

Jota is keen on the transfer and is waiting to discuss final contract details. The 24-year-old Portuguese winger will then sign as new Al Ittihad player. Sky Sports reports that Jota’s former club, Benfica, would be due to 30 per cent of any future transfer fee of the winger.

Jota’s exit would be a blow to new manager Brendan Rodgers, after the former Benfica man helped Celtic secure a domestic treble last season. He scored 15 goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions.

The talented winger will play in Al Ittihad alongside former Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and French midfielder N’Golo Kante. The Saudi Pro League club is pulling these amazing signings following their PIF takeover.
