Currently unattached after leaving Leicester City towards the end of the previous season, Rodgers had been approached by Leeds United regarding a potential managerial role at Elland Road. However, it has been reported that the former Liverpool manager had little interest in working in the Championship at this stage of his career.

Now, Rodgers is prepared to make a comeback to Celtic Park, four years after departing for the Leicester job. As part of his return, he aims to bring back several familiar faces to the coaching staff, including Glen Driscoll and Jack Lyons. However, Chris Davies, his former assistant, is strongly linked with the managerial position at Swansea City and is unlikely to join the reunion.

Furthermore, Rodgers hopes to convince John Kennedy, a member of Celtic’s coaching staff, to remain at the club rather than accept an offer to join Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur.
