Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz acknowledges that his chances of winning Wimbledon are slim adding that Nick Kyrgios stands a better chance to beat Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic won the 2022 Wimbledon in a fierce final with Kyrgios. It was his first Grand Slam final which he got into after Rafael Nadal exited the tournament at the semifinals over abdominal pain
So far, Djokovic has seven Wimbledon victories and has a record of 28 unbeaten matches here. Alcaraz faced off with the Serbian at the semifinals of the 2023 French Open and he put up a brave performance.

The 20-year-old who made his Wimbledon debut in 2021 and advanced to the fourth round in 2022 year is set to make his appearance this year.
The world No.2 kick-starts his grass-court fall at the Queen’s Club Championships ahead of the Wimbledon slated for July 3 to July 16. Alcaraz is set to face off with French tennis star Arthur Fils this week.
While he is confident in his capacity to win competitions on any surface, Alcaraz admits that the Serbian is a hard-to-beat opponent on a grass court.
“Well I have always said that I think I can win any tournament I play. On grass it is a bit more complicated as I don’t have a lot of experience and in the matches I played I struggled on it. And obviously Djokovic, together with Federer, is one of the greatest players ever seen on a grass court. So, it’s already going to be complicated,” he told Tennis365.
In addition to attempting to tie Roger Federer’s Open Era record of eight Wimbledon victories this year, Djokovic hopes to complete the Calendar Grand Slam after his victories at the Australian Open and French Open.
Moreover, he is the tournament’s defending champion and all eyes are on him as he makes a run for a 24th Grand Slam.
When recently asked who can stop Djokovic at Wimbledon, Kyrgios said no one else other than him can thwart Djokovic’s bid for another victory round.
His statement reinforced Alcaraz’s earlier stand that the Australian was better positioned to play against Djokovic.
The 2022 US Open winner, who took mentorship from fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal lost to Jannik Sinner in four sets in 2022 Wimbledon.
Yet Kyrgios made it all through to the tournament’s finals and he has better experience on grass-court.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios withdrew from this week’s ATP tournament in Germany over knee issues but remains optimistic that he will be ready for Wimbledon.
This was his first competition since his left knee surgery in January which kept him off ATP Tour.
“I’m still dealing with a couple of things in my knee, just trying to give myself the best opportunity to compete at Wimbledon. As you all know, that tournament means a lot to me and I just want to do everything right by my body,” he tweeted.
He asked his fans to be patient adding that getting to where he was before will take time as his left knee continues to heal.
