Karl was born in Paris, France on September 14 1992 to his parents who are Cameroonian nationals. His father is the late Jean Valentin and his mother is Mrs. Toko Ekambi Jean Valentin.

He has three siblings, two sisters Naomi Broady and Emma, and a brother by the name Calum.

Ekambi is a music genius who plays with a swagger and also excels as a rapper. He grew up alongside his elder brother and younger sisters in the City of Paris.

The two brothers had a perfect bond and had the act of playing football as their childhood hobby and the family enjoyed going to watch movies.

Ekambi loved playing football and singing but unfortunately, his parents never liked their son’s choice of profession. They preferred something decent like a doctor, Engineer or lawyer.

Villareal signed Toko at a fee of $21.7 million, coming in as a replacement for Cedrick Bakambu who left for the Chinese Super League. He did very well at the Club and even became the La Liga Player of the Month.
