Tiago was born in England on February 26 1993 to his parent Kola Ilori who hails from Nigeria. He has a sibling by the name Ricardo, his elder brother and a businessman.

Career
Born in Hampstead, he spent his childhood in the town of Albufeira, in the Algarve where he started playing football with local Imortal DC.
He later joined Sporting CP’s youth ranks in 2006 where he played as a striker, loaned to Lisbon neighbours GD Estoril Praia. He returned after three years when he had been fully converted into a central defender.
Ilori started his career in 2011 with Sporting making his debut with the first team before signing with Liverpool two years later. He spent three seasons in the English Championship with Reading after joining in January 2017 and also competed professionally in Spain and France.
In November 2011, he made his official debut for the Lion’s first team in a match against U.D Leiria in Primeira Liga. The following month, he played his first game in the UEFA Europa League at the Stadio Olimpico as his team had already secured first place in their group.
The following year, he played for Portugal at four youth levels where he represented the nation at the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2013 Toulon Tournament and the 2015 UEFA European under-21 championship.

One year later, he was named on Liverpool’s bench for the first time in an FA Cup match against Oldham Athletic. Two weeks later, he was loaned to Granada CF in La Liga until the end of the campaign.
In August of the same year, he was loaned to FC Girondins de Bordeaux from France. In 2015, Aston Villa signed him on a season-long loan deal and in two months, the move was cancelled and he returned to Liverpool, making his first competitive appearance in the FA Cup third-round match against Exeter City.
He completed a transfer to Club Reading for a reported fee of $4.7 million in 2017. During that season, he made eight appearances including a penalty shootout loss to Huddersfield Town in the play-off final.

He returned to sporting later in 2019 for a four-and-a-half-year contract at an undisclosed fee. In 2021, he joined FC Lorient on loan until June of that year. Two months later, he moved to Boastiva FC and in 2022, he signed a one-year loan deal with F.C Pacos de Ferreira while still at Sporting.
