Moses Simon was born in Jos, Plateau state, Nigeria on July 12 1995 to Nigerian parents. He has several siblings being born in a polygamous family. The federal government of Nigeria recognizes polygamy marital unions under the country’s customary law.

He happens to be among the youngest of his siblings, his father is a respected figure around their village and in the neighbourhood for taking good care of his family, giving them education and basic needs, not forgetting keeping his large family close-knitted, unlike most polygamous families.

As a boy, he was highly energetic and very friendly. Sitting still was hard for him and always wanted to kick anything moulded like a soccer ball. Little did his family know he was laying the foundation of his destiny.

His ultimate vision in life was to become a professional in the sport and his role model was Paul Onuachu. It was not easy paving the way to his profession but he beat all odds.

His childhood friend Innocent Bonke was always with him playing football at Ribadu Cantonment, Ungwan Kanawa, Kaduna. They are still friends to date, playing football in Europe and are members of the Nigeria national team.

He was so much into football and his parents persuaded him not to abandon his studies for the sport but his idea was vice versa. He opted to take academics seriously in case football didn’t work out.

After becoming successful in his career, Moses has been involved in community projects by drilling three boreholes around the village he came from. Before his involvement in the project, he was more into supporting Internally Displaced Persons.

Simon is married to a lady by the name Ibukun Sarah Adenuga and together have two beautiful girls and they practice the Christian faith.

Career

Simon began his training at the GBS Academy, an institution that has nurtured other great talents like Ahmed Musa. His skills were already known by many professional clubs around the world being linked to Nigeria Premier League Club Kaduna United.

Moses undertook a precontractual agreement with Club Ajax and then train with them, having linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool initially. He made his first appearance at Ajax as a substitute player where he scored the third and final goal in a match against De Graafschap.

After the agreement’s term, Moses was signed by AS Trencin on a three-year contract joining his compatriot Kingsley Madu. He made his debut in the 2014-15 UEFA Europa League campaign.

Club Gent signed Moses on a three-year contract making his debut against Royal Mouscron-Peruwelz in league play. At Gent, he helped the club win their first-ever National Championship title.

After his term at Gent, he joined La Liga side Levante on a five-year contract. One year later, he was loaned out to Ligue 1 club Nantes and as the year ended, they were impressed by his performance opting to buy in his loan, signing a four-year contract.

Through the contracts, salaries, wages and bonuses he has earned in his career, he has built his net worth value and this is expected to grow as he is still young and has more upcoming opportunities.
